Terms of Use

These Terms of Use set out the conditions for using VisionHubKorea, operated by Linkive Co., Ltd., and the rights and obligations of the Company and users.

Purpose

The purpose of these Terms is to set out the conditions and procedures for using VisionHubKorea (the "Service"), an ophthalmology and eye health information service operated by the Company, together with the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the Company and users.

Definitions

The terms used in these Terms of Use have the following meanings.

"Service" means the general information and related content on ophthalmology, eye health, examinations, treatments and procedures that the Company provides through the VisionHubKorea website and its associated online channels.
"User" means any person who accesses the Service and uses its content and features.
"Content" means the text, images, graphics, video, tables, data, translations, compilations, designs, logos and other materials published on the Service.
"External Service" means any website, application or service operated by a third party rather than the Company, including medical institutions, public agencies, academic institutions, news organizations and search services.
Terms not separately defined in these Terms of Use are interpreted in accordance with applicable law and general commercial practice.

Posting and Effect of These Terms

The Company posts these Terms of Use at the foot of the Service screen or on a linked screen so that users can review them easily.
When a user accesses the Service or uses its Content, these Terms of Use and the related policies published on the Service apply.
If any provision of these Terms of Use is invalid because it conflicts with applicable law, the validity of the remaining provisions is not affected.
Matters relating to the processing of personal information are governed by the separate Privacy Policy.

Amendment of These Terms

The Company may amend these Terms of Use to the extent that the amendment does not violate applicable law.
Where the Company amends these Terms of Use, it announces the effective date and the reasons for the amendment within the Service from seven days before that effective date.
Where an amendment is unfavorable to users, such as by restricting their rights or materially changing their obligations, the Company announces it from 30 days before the effective date, absent special circumstances.
Amended Terms of Use take effect on the announced effective date.

Contents of the Service

The Company may provide users with the following.

General information on eye diseases, symptoms, examinations, treatments and procedures
General guidance on eye health management and the use of medical care
Information on the Korean healthcare system, the process of obtaining medical care, and related regulatory frameworks
News, columns, summaries of research, explanations of terminology and comparative content
Introductions and links to public agencies, academic materials and other external information sources
Other information and features that the Company determines to be consistent with the purpose of the Service

The Service is an informational website. The Company does not currently provide consultation intake, appointment booking, patient referral, brokerage or any other service that connects a user with a specific medical institution or medical professional.

The Company is not a medical institution and does not provide online consultation, diagnosis, examination, prescription, surgery or any other medical practice.

If the Company introduces any service beyond the provision of information, it will amend these Terms of Use, publish the applicable conditions and complete the procedures required by applicable law before that service becomes available.

Use of the Service

Users may read the publicly available Content of the Service without registering an account. The Service does not offer account registration.
Certain Content or features may be restricted depending on country, region, age, device environment or the Company's operating policies.
Users bear the cost of the internet access, devices and communications required to use the Service.
Where a user uses an External Service, the terms and policies of the operator of that External Service apply.

Nature and Limits of Medical Information

The Content of the Service is intended for general information and education, and does not substitute for consultation, diagnosis, examination, prescription or treatment by a medical professional.
Use of the Service alone does not create a doctor-patient relationship or a treatment agreement between the Company and a user, or between the author of Content and a user.
Even for the same symptom, the cause, condition, suitability of treatment and outcome may differ from person to person. Users must not self-diagnose a condition, or begin, stop or change treatment, on the basis of the Content alone.
Medical information may change as research findings, clinical guidelines, laws or the healthcare environment change. The Company makes efforts to improve the accuracy and currency of its Content but does not warrant that all information is suitable for a user's individual circumstances or is always current.
Users must consult a qualified medical professional or medical institution directly regarding their own health condition and any medical decision.
In the case of urgent symptoms or a suspected emergency, users must not rely on the Service and should immediately contact an emergency medical facility or emergency service in their area.

Information Relating to Medical Institutions and Procedures

Where the Content describes examinations, treatments, procedures, clinical practice in Korea, or the process of obtaining medical care, that description is general information and does not constitute a recommendation of any particular medical institution or medical professional.
Clinical practice, examination protocols, follow-up schedules, waiting times and administrative procedures may differ between institutions and may change over time. Users must confirm the details that apply to them with the medical institution concerned.
The Company does not warrant the clinical suitability of any particular medical institution or the outcome of any treatment.
Where the Company publishes paid advertising, sponsorship or partnership content, it identifies that fact separately in accordance with applicable law and its operating standards.

External Links and Third-Party Services

The Service may contain links to External Services for the convenience of users.
The operator of an External Service is responsible for its content, operation, security, products, medical services, handling of personal information and terms of use.
Absent willful misconduct or gross negligence by the Company, the Company is not liable for damage arising from the use of an External Service.
The provision of an external link does not by itself mean that the Company warrants the accuracy or quality of, or officially endorses, that External Service, medical institution, organization or content.
Before using an External Service, users should review that service's terms of use, privacy policy and related conditions.

Obligations of the Company

The Company complies with applicable law and these Terms of Use and makes reasonable efforts to provide the Service continuously and stably.
Where the Company considers an opinion or report submitted by a user to be justified, it may review the matter and take necessary action.
Where the Company processes personal information, it protects that information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act, other applicable law and its Privacy Policy.
Where a material error in Content is identified, or the Company considers that Content may affect user safety, the Company may correct, supplement, unpublish or delete that Content.

User Obligations and Prohibited Conduct

Users must not engage in any of the following conduct.

Violating applicable law, these Terms of Use or the Service's operating policies
Infringing the copyright, trademark rights, personal information, reputation, trade secrets or other rights of the Company or a third party
Gaining unauthorized access to, or interfering with, the servers, network or security systems of the Service
Interfering with the operation of the Service through malicious code, automated programs or abnormal requests
Presenting the Content of the Service in a false, exaggerated or contextually distorted manner as medical fact or as the Company's official position
Impersonating the Company, or creating the false impression of a partnership, sponsorship or certification relationship with the Service
Collecting, reproducing, distributing or selling Content or data in bulk without authorization, or building a separate database from it
Using the Service or its Content for unlawful medical advertising, false advertising, spam or the deception of users
Any other conduct that causes damage to the Company or a third party or interferes with the normal operation of the Service

Rights in Content

Copyright, database rights, trademark rights and other intellectual property rights in the Service and in Content produced directly by the Company belong to the Company or the rightful owner.
Users may view the Content of the Service for personal, non-commercial information purposes.
Except for quotation permitted under applicable law, users may not reproduce, modify, translate, distribute, transmit, publish, sell, sublicense, display or commercially exploit the Content without the Company's prior written consent.
Where Content is lawfully quoted, the source must be identified by reasonable means, including the author or service name, the title of the Content and a link to the original, and the intent and context of the original must not be distorted.
Rights in materials provided by third parties belong to the respective rights holders, and separate conditions of use may apply to those materials.

Search Engines, Generative AI and Automated Use

To support the Service's search visibility and information accessibility, the Company may permit general search engines and generative AI services to index its Content and to quote or summarize it on a limited basis with attribution, in accordance with applicable law and the technical standards published by the Company.
Paragraph 1 does not mean a transfer of ownership of the Content, an unrestricted license, or permission for commercial resale.
The following conduct is not permitted without the Company's prior written consent.
1. Collecting or extracting Content repeatedly or systematically in bulk
2. Using Content for the training, fine-tuning or evaluation of AI models, or for building datasets
3. Using Content to create a competing service, a medical information database or a commercial product
4. Removing attribution, or re-publishing Content in a form that may be mistaken for the original
Crawlers operated by search engines or generative AI services must observe the access and use standards indicated by the Company through robots.txt, meta tags, HTTP headers or other technical means.
The Company may limit or block automated access where necessary for the stability of the Service, the protection of rights, or security.

Reporting Errors and Rights Infringement

Users may report to the Company any factual error, outdated information, rights infringement or safety concern found in the Content.
When reporting, users may include the address of the page concerned, a description of the problem and any verifiable supporting basis.
The Company reviews reports and may correct, supplement, unpublish or delete Content where necessary.
Receipt of a report does not by itself mean that the Company accepts its contents or is obliged to act immediately; the Company handles reports in accordance with applicable law and a reasonable review process.

Changes to and Suspension of the Service

The Company may change all or part of the Service as required for operational, technical or legal reasons.
The Company may temporarily restrict or suspend the Service in any of the following cases.
1. System inspection, replacement, failure, or a communications network failure
2. A security risk such as hacking, malicious code or abnormal access
3. A force majeure event such as a natural disaster, war, epidemic or national emergency, or an equivalent event
4. Where necessary under laws, a court order or a request from an administrative authority
5. Any other circumstance in which the Company determines that normal operation of the Service is significantly impaired
Where a change or suspension is foreseeable, the Company gives advance notice to a reasonable extent. Where the matter is urgent or beyond the Company's control, notice may be given afterwards.

Restriction of Use

Where a user violates these Terms of Use or interferes with the safety and normal operation of the Service, the Company may restrict that user's access or apply technical blocking measures.
The Company takes such measures to the extent necessary, taking into account the nature of the violation, whether it is repeated, the scale of harm and the urgency of the matter.
Where unlawful conduct or rights infringement is suspected, the Company may preserve relevant records or cooperate with the relevant authorities in accordance with applicable law.

Limitation of Liability

Where the Company causes damage to a user willfully or negligently, it bears liability in accordance with applicable law.
Absent willful misconduct or gross negligence by the Company, the Company is not liable for damage arising from any of the following.
1. A user making a medical decision, or delaying professional care, on the basis of the Content alone
2. Information provided by a medical institution or third party being changed or inaccurate
3. A problem arising with a user's device, communications network or an External Service
4. A natural disaster, communications failure, security incident or other event that the Company cannot reasonably control
5. A user's violation of these Terms of Use or applicable law
Liability for treatment, diagnosis, examination, prescription, surgery and other medical practice performed by a medical institution and its medical professionals rests with that institution and those professionals. The Company is not a party to such medical practice.
This Article does not exclude any liability of the Company that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Compensation for Damages

Where a user causes direct damage to the Company by violating applicable law or these Terms of Use, the Company may claim compensation for that damage to the extent permitted by applicable law. This does not apply where the user acted without willful misconduct or negligence.

Protection of Personal Information

Where the Company processes personal information in the course of operating the Service, it does so in accordance with applicable law and its Privacy Policy.
The purposes, items, retention periods, entrustment and overseas transfer of personal information, and the rights of users, are set out in the Privacy Policy.
The privacy policy of the relevant operator applies to the processing of personal information by an External Service.

The Company makes efforts to review inquiries received within a reasonable period.
Medical diagnosis and urgent health consultation are not provided through this contact. Users should not include health information or identification documents in an inquiry.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

The laws of the Republic of Korea apply to these Terms of Use and to the use of the Service.
Where a dispute arises between the Company and a user, the parties consult in good faith with a view to an amicable resolution.
Litigation concerning a dispute that is not resolved by consultation is brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act and other applicable laws of the Republic of Korea.
Where mandatory provisions or consumer protection rules apply to a user separately, those provisions may take precedence.

Supplementary Provision

These Terms of Use take effect on August 5, 2026.
